Purchased a Win 1895 takedown firearm from Langara Arms on GunBroker where I believed they were a trustworthy company. Upon inspecting the firearm at home, it was missing the barrel lock mechanism, a critical piece in the operations of firing the gun safely and a metal shim was in it's place keeping the barrel from rotating. I contacted the owner, he stated he was unaware of the issue and since I contacted them after the 3 day return policy, he offered his apology and $50 to keep me as a happy customer. To be accurate to the model, the missing item should be made by a machinist in the $400-500 range. I refused his offer. The firearm should never been sold without full disclosure of the issue, on Gunbroker or any site. It's a safety issue and a criminal action as I see it. They sell thousands of firearms and it's their responsilibily to inspect each firearm and accuracy in the description before listing as a seller. What happened to doing the right thing for the customer. Buyer beware.
